Hendrick Cardiovascular Care
Our accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) is a symbol of the quality care that Hendrick Medical Center gives to our chest pain patients.
As a Chest Pain Center, Hendrick works closely with every agency that comes into contact with our patients to ensure the best care possible. Hendrick has established close working relationships with rural Emergency Medical Services, the fifteen referring hospitals in the area surrounding Abilene, as well as the local Emergency Medical Services and Abilene Fire Department. This close working relationship, along with extensive training of Hendrick staff and physicians, enables Hendrick to provide excellent service and quality care to every chest pain patient.
Hendrick has also been recognized for achieving the Mission: Lifeline 2013 Bronze Receiving award from the American Heart Association. This award is in recognition of the quality improvement in heart attack care the Hendrick team has made and reflects the prompt and consistent care that our heart attack patients receive while using the latest scientific guidelines from the American Heart Association.
Our focus is to deliver the most efficient care possible to the patient with chest pain and, in particular, the patient having a heart attack. It is crucial to the success of the patients and the health of the heart that any patient experiencing a heart attack be seen and treated in a timely manner. The “Golden hour” is taken very seriously at Hendrick, and it is important to us that our patients know how to recognize when it is time to seek help.
