MedMinedTM

Hendrick Medical Center uses MedMinedTM, an infection control survelliance service, to automatically detect opportunities to prevent infections at the hospital. The innovative infection-tracking technology provides infection control professionals at Hendrick with a tool to pinpoint a great number of infection sources more quickly and undertake the appropriate inventions, reducing the overall rate of hospital-acquired infection.

The services eliminate hours of time spend reviewing data, allowing our staff to focus more time on education and interventions. Using MedMinedTM, clinical staff is able to immediately indentify problem areas and take corrective action to enhance quality of care and safety. Through MedminedTM, Hendrick has seen more success than many other hospitals in reducing infections, particularly urinary catheter related infections.

Pharmacy OneSource, Inc., Sentri7

Hendrick Medical Center recently invested in new Pharmacy OneSource, Inc., Sentri7 software to improve pharmacy performance. The new web-based software allows the pharmacy at Hendrick to monitor laboratory, medication systems and patient data in one system to better recognize opportunities for pharmacist intervention and ensure the best use of medications.

With the system, Hendrick pharmacists can create specific clinical guidelines for the hospital to help identify risks of adverse reactions or drug interactions. The software allows pharmacists to more efficiently review patient data by providing alerts based on the guidelines and prioritizing cases.

Infant Security

The Birthplace at Hendrick uses a sophisticated infant security system to protect newborns from the threat of abduction. With the use of surveillance systems, restricted access and other specialized equipment, newborns are monitored 24 hours a day. Just as important, our nurses work with new mothers to educate them on how to protect their baby.
