The HBO & Wound Care Center staff is under the medical direction of physicians who are certified in hyperbaric oxygen and wound care. The wound care team consists of certified wound care physical therapists, certified hyperbaric oxygen therapists and nurses who are specialized and trained in wound care.
The goals of the HBO & Wound Care Center are to provide excellence and service in healing patients, reducing the length of their hospital stay and improving their quality of life with education, innovation and cost containment. The multidisciplinary team in the HBO & Wound Care Center works with the patients to identify vascular problems, risk factors, skin care problems and to develop a care plan that includes treatment, education and prevention both for patients and caregivers.
It is the responsibility of the HBO & Wound Care Center to maintain, at all times, the same quality and level of care that the patient is receiving on the nursing floor or in critical care. That is, if the patient is on telemetry, EKG monitoring will be continued through the hyperbaric treatment. IV infusions and mechanical ventilation also will be maintained as ordered.
